Yes! We have many ways for you to get involved. Our Navigators are volunteers who are willing to help others navigate their kidney journey. Many of them have been personally impacted by kidney transplants and donation. Please visit the Navigators page for all a list of our volunteer opportunities.
Please encourage them to visit our website, www.getoffthelist.org to learn more about our programs and services. Encourage them to visit the Contact tab where they can send us a message or sign up for an introductory call. During this call, they will have the opportunity to share their story and learn more about how Off The List can assist them in their transplant journey.
Yes! You can pursue kidney donation through a Paired Kidney Exchange. With paired kidney exchange, you will donate your kidney to another recipient in exchange for a compatible kidney for your intended recipient. As a result of this type of donation, at least two individuals on the transplant list are given the gift of life. Please contact us if you have more questions or would like to be connected to a transplant center.
Our services, programs, and resources are available to anyone on the kidney transplant list. We are currently prioritizing those who live in the Cincinnati area for our Together Toward Transplant program. We also offer a Toward Transplant: Self-Guided, which includes our Kidney Transplant 101 Guide and Finding Your Living Kidney Donor: Marketing 101 Guide. Both resources will help you move forward in your transplant journey and provide step-by-step directions on how to find a donor. Please reach out and contact us if you have questions.
We would love to have you join us as an Off The List Navigator, and specifically one our Transplant Pals. Our Navigators are volunteers who are willing to help others navigate their kidney journey.
Our Transplant Pals program is a 1:1 mentorship that pairs an individual on the transplant list with an individual, like yourself, who is post-transplant and has navigated the transplant process. As a Transplant Pal, you can build a relationship with an individual currently on the transplant list. You have the unique opportunity to share your personal journey and provide the support that only a person who has gone through a transplant can give.
Please contact us and indicate in your message that you are interested in being a part of our Navigator’s program.
